JOHOR BAHRU, Oct 11 (Bernama): Kelab Media Johor (KMJ) will distribute 1,500 units of Covid-19 self-test kits to about 140 registered media personnel in the state starting next week.
KMJ president Mohamad Fauzi Ishak said the initiative was aimed at helping media personnel undergo self-testing before or after performing their duties in the field as well as encouraging them to focus on their health and safety.
"Even though Johor has entered Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), since Friday (Oct 8), the risks (of infection) while on duty remain. Therefore, we want every KMJ member to set an example to the public in terms of healthcare.
"The purchase of the Covid-19 self-test kit is also a contribution from the Johor government which distributes an annual grant to KMJ to run any programme for its member as well as to look after their welfare," he said in a statement here on Monday (Oct 11).
Fauzi said apart from the Covid-19 self-test kit, KMJ had also distributed donations such as face masks, disinfectants, vitamin C and face shields to its members starting April last year.
"In the meantime, KMJ is planning to hold several programmes soon for all members, including indoor sports activities, whether bowling or badminton, depending on the current situation," he said. - Bernama
