Heartbroken mum cries ‘my soul burns’ after six-month-old baby daughter killed in crash as woman, 23, in court

       A HEARTBROKEN mother has begged ‘God, take care of her’ after her baby daughter was killed in a car crash by an alleged drink-driver.

       Eva Maria, who was just six months old, was in the back of her family’s car when it was hit on a busy crossroads in Llanelli, South Wales.

       Lucy Dyer, 23, is due in court today charged with causing death by dangerous driving and drink-driving.

       The tot’s parents who came to Britain from Romania three years ago said their “pain was indescribable”.

       Mum Carmen, a healthcare assistant, said on social media: “It took all the happiness. It destroyed my family".

       “The house is empty without her. Our souls are burned on the inside.”

       She added: “I hope God takes care of her because our pain is indescribable.”

       Flowers and cuddly toys have been left at the scene of the crash in South Wales.

       Specially trained officers are supporting Carmen and her husband, who live in Carmarthen.

       More than £8,000 was raised for the family in less than two days through a Facebook fundraising campaign.

       Friends are lighting candles for little Eva Maria and a balloon release is planned for next weekend.

       Police said the crash at 9pm last Friday night involved a blue 3 Series BMW and a blue Vauxhall Vectra.

       A spokesman said: “Sadly a child died as a result of the injuries they sustained in the collision.

       "Specialist police officers are providing support to their family.”

       Mother-of-one Lucy was arrested shortly after the crash and held in police custody for questioning.

       She was charged on Sunday morning and due to appear at Llanelli Magistrates today.

       Wales Senedd Member for Llanelli Lee Waters said: “This is just so desperately sad.

       “I know the community will rally around the family but nothing can console them for this awful loss.”

       “I’m sure all our thoughts are with those closest to the little girl and her family.”
