KUALA LUMPUR: The foreign woman who allegedly abused an autistic child under her care will be charged on Wednesday (Oct 13).
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said police completed investigations and handed over the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor’s office on Monday (Oct 11).
"We were instructed to charge the Singapore national under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act.
"The suspect will be produced at the Ampang Court on Wednesday (Oct 13) morning," he said in a statement on Monday.
It was reported that checks revealed that her social visit permit had expired and investigations were continuing under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act.
The suspect was initially remanded until last Friday (Oct 1) following her arrest on Oct 3.
The victim was believed to have been abused between 8.45am and 12.45pm on Friday (Oct 1) after the father found bruises on the boy’s shoulder and both eyes when he picked up the child from the daycare centre.
A teacher at the centre told the father that there was a red mark on the side of the boy’s left forehead, claiming that the victim had hit his head on a table.
The boy’s father then viewed the CCTV footage and found that the suspect had acted violently when his son refused to eat his meal.
Police investigations found that the 51-year-old woman was the manager of the place and employed three local workers, who were also at the scene.
