Royal Family members are often spotted sporting luxury brands, but Kate Middleton has often surprised fans with her 'thrifty' nature. During a visit to the National Museum of Architecture and Design in Stockholm in 2018, the royal mother of three revealed that Prince George's room is filled with IKEA furniture.

Speaking to IKEA's Head of Design, Marcus Engman, the Duchess said Princess Charlotte's room also features the Scandinavian furniture.

Presumably Prince Louis', her youngest, room also is decked out with IKEA.

“I'm proud that we can suit everybody,” Mr Engman said upon hearing IKEA was fit for royalty.

“That's what we want IKEA to be – for the many people of the world, both royalty and ordinary people.”

Kate Middleton has often been spotted wearing high street labels and just earlier this year the royal was spotted re-wearing a pair of boots she has owned for 17 years.

The Duchess has also previously been seen shopping in the budget shop the Range to do her Christmas shopping and has bought Halloween supplies in a local Sainsbury’s in Norfolk.

The 39-year-old has also stunned in items bought from Topshop, Zara and Gap during her time as a working royal.

Despite having her own chef, Kate also prefers to bake her kids a homemade cake each year.

“I love making the cake,” the Duchess said on Mary Berry's A Berry Royal Christmas in 2019.

“It's become a bit of a tradition that I stay up 'til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much.

       “But I love it.“

The Duke and Duchess also once traveled on a budget airline from Norwich to Aberdeen Airport on their way to visit the Queen in 2019.

The whole cost for the family of five would have been just £365.
