Independent investigations by Naperville police resulted in the separate arrests this past week of two Naperville men on child pornography charges, according to a news release.
Jerome A. Vahary, 41, of the 800 block of Mount Vernon Court, was arrested Oct. 7 and charged with 10 class X felony counts of child pornography related to the reproduction and distribution of video, according to the release.
Police said the investigation was initiated in January after Naperville officers received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
In a separate case, Naperville officers arrested Vatsal Patel, 20, of the 900 block of Creekside Circle, on Oct. 11.
Patel was charged with four class 2 felony counts of child pornography in possession of a visual reproduction on a computer of a child younger than 13, the release said.

That yearlong investigation also was the result of a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in October 2019.
“The Naperville Police Department will relentlessly pursue anyone engaged in such heinous acts as creating or distributing child pornography in this community,” Jason Arres, interim police chief, said in the release.
Anyone with additional information regarding these investigations is asked to contact the Naperville Police Department at 630-420-6665 and ask for the investigations division.
