A 4.5 magnitude earthquake shook the island this morning, the strongest recorded tremor since the eruption began more than three weeks ago. The quake was one of 60 recorded overnight according to Spain's National Geographic Institute.
Lava flows continue to approach La Laguna "slowly, but unstoppable", says the director of Pevolca, Miguel Angel Morcuende.
The latest figures suggest lava flow is now 1,770 meters wide, 1,408 buildings have been destroyed and 6,400 people have been moved or evacuated.
