KUCHING: Sarawak will ease its entry procedures for fully vaccinated individuals from within Malaysia starting next Monday (Oct 18).

The state disaster management committee said fully vaccinated travellers would no longer need to apply for entry via EnterSarawak online or undergo Covid-19 screening prior to entry.

However, they still need to fill in the e-health declaration form and submit proof of their vaccination status, while their MySejahtera status should be either low-risk or casual contact with no symptoms.

"With the abolition of pre-departure Covid-19 screening for fully vaccinated individuals, we hope everyone will play their part in protecting themselves and their families.

"The relaxation of the entry procedures may increase the risk of infection in the community. We encourage individuals to do self-testing before entering Sarawak.

"If you experience symptoms during your stay in Sarawak, please do a self-test or get screened at a health facility," the committee said in a statement on Saturday (Oct 16).

It said unvaccinated individuals or those with incomplete vaccination must still apply for entry via EnterSarawak and take a PCR or antigen swab test three days before arrival in the state.

They will also be quarantined for 10 days at home or a quarantine centre, subject to risk assessment by a health officer.

Children below 12 also need to undergo Covid-19 screening if they were travelling to Sarawak with parents or guardians who were unvaccinated or with incomplete vaccination.

As for arrivals from overseas, the committee said they must apply for entry via EnterSarawak and take a PCR test three days before entering Malaysia.

Fully vaccinated travellers would be quarantined for seven days, while those unvaccinated or with incomplete vaccination would be quarantined for 10 days.

"It is compulsory for travellers from overseas to report their travel history to officers on duty at airports," the committee said.
