A VIOLENT burglar has been jailed after cops found him hiding in a loft in just his pants.

       Bodycam footage shows the moment police discovered bare chested Scott Taylor, 31, in the attic of a Birmingham home.

       He had been wanted for a nasty burglary at a house in Felton Croft late on April 26.

       A man in his 50s was upstairs when he heard someone forcing their way in and looked out of his bedroom window to see four people at the front door.

       As he walked downstairs, the man was struck across the kneecap with a knife.

       Taylor and the men then made off in a Volvo along with several electronic items.

       Cops carried out a forensic examination of the home in Felton Croft the following day and found a mobile phone belonging to the man discarded on a road nearby thanks to a tracking app.

       Officers then recovered a fingerprint on the device matching Taylor.

       Attempts were made to arrest Taylor but he went on the run sparking a police appeal.

       This led to an anonymous call on his whereabouts - and Taylor was found by officers hiding in the loft of an address on Folliott Road.

       In the video of his arrest we see an officer getting a leg up through a hatch into the loft.

       Once inside the officer discovered Taylor in the dark wearing just a black pair of underwear.

       The officer can be heard telling him: "Walk to me. Keep stepping, do not play up at all, do you understand?

       "We're going to look after you but you need to play ball."

       The officer can then be heard saying to his colleague: "Nice boost by the way, its all in the boost. How did you get up here anyway?"

       The other officer replies: "I've been doing some pull ups haven't I? In all this kit as well."

       Taylor pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and attempted aggravated burglary at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday.

       He has been jailed for eight years and 10 months.
