Jeremy Kyle calls on 'failed' Sadiq Khan to be 'thrown out of office' after baffling move

Jeremy Kyle has said that Londoners would "throw Sadiq Khan out" if there was an election tomorrow. The talkRADIO host made the remarks after the London Mayor cancelled the city's New Year's Eve fireworks again. Mr Khan announced the capital will not be hosting a display for the second year in a row amid "uncertainties" brought about by the pandemic.

Mr Kyle labelled the Labour Mayor an "utter failure" and called the decision to ban the event "preposterous".

He said: "I have this terrible feeling that Sadiq Khan believes his own publicity.

"He is holding onto everything that the pandemic brought to instil his power.

"If there was an election tomorrow, Sadiq Khan would be thrown out completely.

"My mates in the black cabs, he has screwed them over.

"He has banned them from about 40 percent of the roads. They will never vote for him."

Mr Kyle suggested that Sadiq Khan was thinking of his future political career rather than Londoners.

He said: "Sadiq Khan, his political career stalled so he went to become a mayor.

"I don't think Sadiq Khan is talking about London. He is talking about himself as a future prime minister. He thinks he will do a Boris."

LBC radio host Nick Ferrari echoed this criticism earlier this week as he slammed the Mayor of London as a "killjoy".

Mr Ferrari has questioned the wisdom of the move, pointing out that a number of large-scale sporting events have already been held in London.

A spokesman for London Mayor Sadiq Khan promised that the capital's new year celebrations will still be "spectacular".

He said: "This year, as always, London will be welcoming the new year in a spectacular way.

"Due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our world-famous New Year's Eve display will not be held on the banks of the Thames this year."

Critics highlighted the high Covid vaccination rate in the UK while questioning how people can still attend large public events and not be able to enjoy the fireworks

Former MEP and deputy leader of the Reclaim Party Martin Daubney fumed: "Utterly absurd.

"Sadiq Khan has cancelled London's New Year's Eve fireworks again, due to 'uncertainties caused by COVID' - even though London buses & Tubes are packed, the London Marathon went ahead, football grounds are open."

GB News presenter Dan Wootton raged: "Do you get the sense that some folk like the failed Mayor of London Sadiq Khan never want life to return to normal?

"There is no uncertainty. We are 80 per cent vaccinated. Life must return to normal."
