But that hasn't deterred curious diners from booking out the restaurant every night.
Restauranteur Nikolas Opacic - who owns Manchester celeb-haunt Seven 54 - hailed him as a "genius".
Nikolas told The Evening Standard : “I think he’s a genius. He is fully booked with insane prices.”
“If people can afford it and want to experience it, let them. He’s a genius if he can fill a restaurant with those prices.”
He added: "Well done to him he deserves all the credit."
Celebs including TOWIE’s Gemma Collins and footie star Rio Ferdinand have all graced a table.

But reviews have been a mixed bag, with raging diners dubbing it a "rip off" and "not up to standard".
A Trip Adviser reviewer - who went to the restaurant with three others last Friday - said: "At the start they couldn’t find our reservation. After all, they offered us a table upstairs. We agreed.
"Apparently 'upstairs' is actually outside. I wasn’t happy seating outside, as it was really cold.
"A waiter re-assured us that it’s going to be nice and warm and turned two heaters on.
"Ten minutes later a manager came and turned heaters off and told us they don’t have a license to use gas heaters.
"Nobody even apologised for that. We were promised table inside.
That’s fine, we ordered food. The second we ordered food - we been told they aren’t gonna give us table inside, because they are too busy.
"We were so cold, next morning I woke up with a sore throat.
Food arrived cold too."
He said the service he received was "terrible" and the food "wasn't even nice".
But others told of positive experiences at the restaurant, with one happy customer calling the steak "to die for".
Another reviewer said: "I went to this restaurant for a family celebration and found it was the perfect place.
"The food was perfect and plentiful - steak to die for and baklava with ice cream in the middle, that melted in the mouth.
"The restaurant was clean and classy with spotless kitchens. The staff were professional and attentive."
They added: "Yes, it was expensive but worth every single penny!"
