KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah is prepared to offer itself as a vehicle to the yet-to-be-registered Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) to contest in the 15th general election.

       Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said he had made the offer to Muda, headed by Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

       “Yes, we are ready to provide our party as the platform.

       “They have not come back to us as yet; we will let them decide,” he said during an online talk with newsmen and senior editors organised by the Concorde Club.

       The Concorde Club is a monthly discussion on hot topics initiated by veteran journalists, Star Media Group adviser Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai and former Bernama chairman Datuk Seri Azman Ujang.

       Shafie said Warisan and Muda had been working together as an opposition force and have taken similar stands on various issues.

       The former Sabah chief minister also said Warisan remained on track to spread its wings to Peninsular Malaysia.

       “We are scheduled to formally launch the party in the peninsula by this year,” he said.

       Warisan, Shafie added, would be promoting a multiracial platform towards building a nation less focused on race and religion.

       “There’s a need for the country to move away from race and religious politics and for Malaysians to focus their energies on building a nation inclusive of all,” he said.
