A 44-year-old woman was found fatally shot early Thursday in the Fairlawn neighborhood of Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

       The victim was identified as Sharon Robinson, who police said had no fixed address.

       A police officer patrolling the area found the woman about 1:22 p.m. in the 2200 block of Nicholson Street SE, near the Anacostia Freeway and Pennsylvania Avenue.

       Police said the woman had been shot, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

       Authorities did not release any other information about the case.
