PUTRAJAYA: The one-off RM500 Loss of Income (BKP) financial aid will be disbursed beginning Tuesday (Oct 26), announced the Prime Minister.
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said close to 870,000 individuals who had lost their income this year would benefit from the cash aid.
“The assistance will involve an allocation of RM430mil to ensure the wellbeing of the Malaysian Family.
“The government remains committed to ensuring that the Malaysian Family is looked after, especially the target groups who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said in a statement on Monday (Oct 25).
The BKP aid is given to workers who had lost their income based on the Employees Provident Fund or Socso data for the year 2021.
“I hope that this assistance and other cash aid that the government has provided will help lessen the financial burden faced by the people during these challenging times,” said the Prime Minister.
Checks can be made on BKP approval states beginning Tuesday via the BKP portal at https://bkp.hasil.gov.my.
In September, Phase 3 of Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) Keluarga Malaysia was paid out, benefitting some 3.6 million households.
The payment involved an allocation of RM2.8bil.
