PETALING JAYA: Stay strong in all this adversity, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong in extending his condolences to newly-wed Mohamad Amirul Akmal Mohd Aziz, 25, who lost his wife Siti Saraf Ismail on Sunday (Oct 24).
The two had just been married on Saturday (Oct 23) morning and Siti Saraf passed away the following day due to a brain haemorrhage.
"Siti Saraf is a staff member at the Putrajaya JPJ (Road Transport Department). It breaks my heart even more to find out she had only just tied the knot with Amirul.
"I pray that Amirul and the rest of the family can stay strong in all this adversity. May her soul be blessed," said Dr Wee in a Facebook post Wednesday (Oct 27).
The Star's Malay-language portal, mStar, reported that Amirul and Siti Saraf were wedded in a ceremony at Kampung Karang in Banggu, Kelantan, on Saturday.
At 3am Sunday, Siti Saraf woke up and complained of a headache to her husband.
Later that morning, she suffered breathing difficulties and an ambulance was called.
At 12.30pm, she was pronounced dead at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia in Kubang Kerian.
Post-mortem results confirmed that she died due to a brain hemorrhage.
Siti Saraf was buried at the Kampung Karang Muslim cemetery on the same day.
