KOTA TINGGI: Two individuals were killed in an accident involving a car and a motorcycle at KM49 Jalan Sungai Rengit - Kota Tinggi here.

       Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said the incident occurred at about 10.30am on Sunday (Oct 31) when the car collided head-on with the motorcycle.

       "The incident started when the car driver was driving from Semenchu towards Kota Tinggi. It then crashed into the incoming motorcycle from the opposite direction that had suddenly veered into the car lane.

       "Both the motorcyclist and pillion rider were killed at the scene," he said in a statement.

       He added that the motorcyclist was a male while the pillion rider was a female, both aged 20.

       "The car driver, a 24-year-old man, was unharmed while the duo suffered serious injuries to the head.

       "Investigations also revealed that the duo were co-workers at a factory,” he said, adding that the case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
