CIVIL servants have been told not to use the expression “black mark” in new woke training from the Government.
The Cabinet Office has introduced online learning on “allyship”, privilege and micro-aggressions for Black History Month.

Computer slides and handouts delivered to employees last month have trigger warnings for terms including “lynch mob” and “sold down the river” because of their slavery connotations.
Another is “black mark” — to indicate someone tainted by a misdemeanour.
But the earliest clear use of it is taken from a 1624 book countering the arguments of a Jesuit priest, The Sunday Telegraph reported.
Staff were also asked to reflect on how often they have witnessed or experienced “microaggressions” — like asking: “Where are you from?”.
A source said employees have also been sent a reading list to “confront their privilege”.
It includes titles such as White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard to Talk to White People about Racism.

John O’Connell, of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “Civil servants’ time should be focused on providing high quality services, not wasted on woke causes.”
