PUTRAJAYA: Non-pensionable Armed Forces veterans will also receive RM350 special financial aid, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said this assistance was in line with the “caring government” practice from Budget 2021, where this group was among those retired from service who received RM300 aid.
The Veteran Affairs Department estimated that there are around 300,000 Armed Forces veterans; of this number, 85,000 are non-pensionable and registered with the department as of Sept 30.
“We hope that veterans in this category who have yet to register will do so.
“This is necessary so that the aid can be channeled to them by January,” Ismai Sabri said on Monday (Nov 1).
During the tabling of Budget 2022, it was announced that the one-off special aid will be paid to one million government pensioners.
