THIS is the shocking moment a dad accidentally ran over his one-year-old son when the tot chased his pickup car.

       The lucky boy was able to escape with just a scratch on his knee thanks to other motorists who beeped their horns to get the drivers attention.

       And now his relieved dad wants to warn other parents to be extremely careful when unparking.

       The incident happened on Saturday in the city of Arapiraca, Brazil and was captured by CCTV.

       Nail-biting footage shows the moment businessman Silvio Araujo, 35, drives out of his garage not realising his little son Arthur is running in front of the vehicle.

       The dad can be seen reversing and then heading forward knocking down the boy to the ground.

       Luckily he is able to stop the truck just inches away before running him over thanks to other drivers honking their horns.

       The boy's mum can be seen rushing to pick him up as Araujo quickly gets out of the car and runs to them.

       The relieved dad explained he had not spotted his son at the time due to the height of his hefty pickup truck.

       He told news portal G1: "Gratitude to God and to the people who honked their horns. They are the true heroes, angels disguised as men."

       Miraculously,the one-year-old had suffered a mere scratch to the knee and did not need medical attention.

       Araujo told the outlet: "It was an alert for other people who have children at home, pets too, that you take utmost care."

       Another lucky boy escaped with just cuts and bruises after being hit by a harvester in front of his horrified parents.

       Last month a woman accidentally killed her eight-year-old nephew when he fell under the wheels of her car after his hand got stuck at the door.

       And a three-year-old boy in Clynderwen in Pembrokeshire was killed after his dad failed to spot him while driving out of the yard in a pickup truck and trailer.
