White Doves Of Peace even has a special mention for the late Captain Sir Tom Moore, who captured the nation’s hearts after he raised almost ￡33million for NHS charities by walking laps of his garden. In the new moving tribute single, the veterans’ voices urge the entire nation to remember those who have fallen. They sing: “When you go home, tell them of us and say, ‘For your tomorrow, we gave our today’.”

       Joining the Chelsea Pensioners are children from The Bedford School Chapel Choir, including lead vocals from Alexander Olleson, choir member and BBC Young Chorister of the Year, along with the songwriter Jamie Lonsdale, 63.

       Bedford School has a close link with Captain Tom’s family – his grandson attends the school.

       Inspirational Sir Tom, right, died in Bedford Hospital in February, aged 100.

       The single will be released on Friday and available to download on all major music platforms.
