       TOKYO -- As part of the sequential closure of businesses at the Palette Town commercial complex in Tokyo's Odaiba waterfront area from December, themed shopping mall VenusFort will draw the curtain on its 22-year history on March 27, 2022.

       To mark the mall's final days, special performances including light shows will be held on site from Nov. 19 as part of its "VenusFort Thankful Carnival" plan.

       VenusFort opened in 1999 and became popular for its European-style interiors and fountain. As part of the farewell project, the fountain plaza's two-story ceiling will be decorated in gold and red drapes, and mirror balls will recreate snow.

       A three-minute-long "Thankful Carnival Show" will also be held every 30 minutes from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., although times may change depending on business hours. Establishments in the facility plan to offer limited-edition merchandise and food.
