PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded a total of 46 fatalities due to Covid-19 on Wednesday (Nov 3) bringing the death toll to 29,091 since the pandemic began, says the Health Ministry.
According to data from the Ministry's GitHub data repository, this number included eight brought-in-dead (BID) cases.
Sarawak recorded the most deaths with 10, including three BID cases, followed by Kelantan (9), Johor (8) and Sabah (4).
The data also reported that three localities - Pahang, Labuan and Putrajaya, did not record any new deaths on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, 5,291 new cases were recorded on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,486,630.
Current active Covid-19 cases stand at 67,160 with 60,864 Category 1 and 2 infections requiring home quarantine or treatment at a low-risk quarantine and treatment centre.
Some 5,750 patients are hospitalised with 546 warded in intensive care units (ICU).
Malaysia's current ICU utilisation rate stands at 58.2% while the usage of hospital beds in the country is at 67.5%.
Only Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur reported hospital usage figures of less than 50% on Wednesday, with 49.7% and 43.6%, respectively.
