THE woman thought to be Britain's youngest great-gran considers her role a blessingbecause she is able to watch her family grow up.

       Nicky Dando, 54, believes she earned the golden title after her grandson became a dad when she was 51.

       The gran-of-six, whose cousin is Good Morning Britain weatherman Alex Beresford, says she hasn't been able to find another great-nan younger than her.

       And despite battling breast cancer, brave Nicky says she considers herself blessed.

       “Not many live to see grandchildren, let alone great-grandchildren," she told the Mirror.

       “My little munchie is a blessing sent from above. When I’m with them all we have so much fun and laughter.”

       Nicky, from Bristol, was 17 when she had the first of her two kids.

       She is now 54 with six grandkids.

       "I can’t find any sign of a great-grandmother younger than me," she said.

       "When we researched it, there was a woman in Wales who was 54.”

       That is three years older than Nicky was when her great-grandchild, Maliki Kennett-Miles, was born in December 2018.

       Maliki’s dad, car technician Tyrese, was born in January 2000, when Nicky was just 32.

       And that means she was younger than the current youngest gran, Gemma Skinner, 33.

       Nicky first found signs of her cancer in December 2016, with a burning sensation in her left armpit.

       She then discovered a breast lump – and is now being kept alive by a course of drug treatments.

       The proud gran now hopes to raise money for a new scan and radiotherapy machine to help others, and has set up a Gofundme page.
