Man in his 50s rushed to hospital after being struck by unmarked police car

       A MAN has been hospitalised following a collision with a police car.

       Cops confirmed they were investigating following the incident in West London.

       Cops said the man, aged in his 50s, had not suffered any life-threatening injuries.

       Pictures from the scene shows a cordon in place earlier today across Wood Lane in Shepherd's Bush, near to the Westfield Shopping Centre.

       In footage which appears to be taken immediately after the incident, a grey police vehicle with its lights flashing can be seen.

       Nearby, two women attend to the victim, who is laying on the ground.

       Pictures from later on show a cordon in place and uniformed police officers, as well as an ambulance.

       A red air ambulance was photographed after landing on nearby Shepherd's Bush Green.

       A Met Police spokesperson said: "Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating after a collision involving a police vehicle.

       "The incident happened at 13:36hrs on Tuesday, 9 November at Wood Lane, W12.

       "A police car collided with a pedestrian who was taken to a central London hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

       "The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed as a matter of course. Enquiries continue."

       A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (9th November) at 1335 to reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in Wood Lane, W12.

       “We sent two ambulance crews, two incident response officers and the London Air Ambulance car was also dispatched.

       “We treated a man at the scene and took him to St.Mary's Major Trauma Centre, as a priority.
