MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan will be offering Opposition leaders executive councillor positions if it manages to win the state after the Melaka election on Nov 20.

The decision was announced as part of the action plan unveiled by Pakatan Chief Minister-designate Adly Zahari during a press conference here.

Adly said the action plan, which is considered Pakatan’s election manifesto, was based on three elemental points, six strategies and 32 initiatives which focuses on economy, good governance, health and well-being packages.

Pakatan also promised to enact an anti-party hopping law should it come into power and fair distribution of allocations to all 28 assemblymen, regardless of their political parties.

However, there was no mention whether the privilege would be extended to Independent candidates if they manage to secure any of the 22 state seats where they are contesting.

Adly also told reporters that two funds to care for those physically and mentally impacted by Covid-19 would also be set up, while making it mandatory for all future lawmakers to declare their assets.

He also said his to-be-state government would make open tenders as the core for the procurement process.

For the economy sector, Pakatan would focus more on creating 10,000 job opportunities, as well as special allocation to boost the tourism industry recovery, apart from emphasising the assistance for small-and-medium-sized enterprises.

Adly said they will also create a micro-credit scheme with an easy approval scheme of up RM5,000 for entrepreneurs.

He said locals would be also offered a scheme to own affordable houses and advance the e-Sport development in the state.
