Police were called to reports of the brawl on The Meadows, Nottingham, at around 10.30pm. Officers found the 31-year-old man, who had knife wounds and was in a critical condition.

       Officers worked hard with paramedics to provide emergency first aid but the man later died in hospital.

       Three men have since been arrested for murder in connection with the stabbing, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

       The men, aged 21, 23 and 34, remain in custody with a 37-year-old woman who was arrested for assisting an offender, Nottinghamshire Police say.

       Large numbers of officers remain on the estate today as their investigation continues.

       A male resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "We saw the lights flashing.

       "This used to be a quiet and nice road, but now things like this happen.

       "It’s concerning because it did not used to be like this."

       Specially trained officers will be working closely with the family of the victim.

       Assistant Chief Constable Rob Griffin, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a violent attack which has ended in the tragic loss of life.

       "My thoughts are with the victim’s family during this very difficult and upsetting time, and we will be deploying specially trained officers to support them."
