The driver of a dirt bike died after a crash in Prince George’s County.

       Local police said the crash happened around 6:20 p.m. Thursday in the 4600 block of Saint Barnabas Road near the Capital Beltway in the Temple Hills area.

       An initial investigation found the dirt bike driver was headed east on Saint Barnabas Road and the SUV was headed in the opposite direction. As the SUV driver made a left turn, it crashed with the dirt bike.

       The driver of the dirt bike was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

       Officials said the driver and passenger of the SUV stayed at the scene and were not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.

       Authorities later identified the SUV driver as Germaine Cooke, 26, of District Heights.
