SEGAMAT: An electrical shop at Jalan Rahmat Musa Kampung Abdullah here was gutted by fire in the early hours of Monday (Nov 15).

       Bandar Baru Segamat Fire and Rescue Department chief Mazuki Ismail said the department received an emergency call at 3.02am.

       “Eighteen firefighters from Bandar Baru Segamat and Segamat Fire and Rescue Departments were sent to the scene,’’ he said in a statement.

       Mazuki said two Fire Rescue Tenders (FRT), Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) vehicles and water tankers from Bandar Baru Segamat station and Segamat station were deployed in the operations.

       “The fire destroyed 60% of the shop which is located near a supermarket,’’ he said.

       Mazuki said there were no casualties in the blaze and the cause of the fire and losses suffered are under investigation.

       The fire was put out at 8.58am.
