A FOOD delivery rider in China’s Jiangsu province killed a customer and a store manager after he was given a negative review for failing to deliver a cup of milk tea, China Press reported.

The tragic case began to unfold on Nov 8 when a 19-year-old girl gave unfavourable feedback after the milk tea she ordered was not sent to her.

The next day, the delivery rider showed up at the address, which happened to be the teenager’s workplace, and threatened to beat her up if she did not retract her review.

She escaped from being harmed after an intervention from the store manager at her office.

The teenager reported the matter to the food delivery company and demanded that the rider make a public apology.

This further incensed the deliveryman, who turned up at her workplace on Nov 10 and killed her and the store manager.

The brother of the female victim said that his sister had only wanted an apology and did not expect it to turn into a tragedy.

The police have since arrested the murder suspect.

       > Hong Kong singer-actor Hacken Lee has reportedly turned down multiple job offers in mainland China so that he can spend more time with his children in Hong Kong, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The 53-year-old Lee, who has just completed his stint as a coach in the latest season of the Sing! China reality singing competition, said he would be going to mainland China only once a year where he would spend several months there before going home.

“There are many job opportunities in China. But I’m worried that my two sons will not recognise me anymore, so I have rejected the offers.”

“We’ll see what new opportunities next year brings,” he said.

Lee served as a coach on Season Six of Sing! China, which concluded last month, along with other veteran artistes including Li Ronghao, Wang Feng and Na Ying.

Lee admitted that he had gained between 1.3 and 1.8kg during his four-month stint in China.

“There are more than 20 dinner parties that I have to attend in November, and my wife’s birthday also falls on the same month.

“Moreover, my birthday is in December.

“It seems like I should start exercising hard,” he joked.

Lee and long-time girlfriend Emily Lo Suk Yi, who is a former Miss Hong Kong Pageant winner, got hitched in 2006.
