In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, marking seventy years as the head of the British Royal Family. Her Majesty, 95, will be the first British Monarch to celebrate the milestone, and celebrations will include a 5000-participant strong pageant.
The latter half of the year also sees the release of The Duke of Sussex’s “intimate and heartfelt” memoir, which charts his life from childhood to the present day.
Announcing the project in July, the 37-year-old said he would reflect on "the highs and lows" of his life and it would be "accurate and wholly truthful".
Royal expert Daniela Elser claims the content of the book could cause shockwaves among the Firm after a spokesperson for the royal said he would not be expected to obtain permission for the project from Buckingham Palace.
Writing for the New Zealand Herald, Ms Elser noted: “Prince Harry will release his memoir which is all but guaranteed to rock the palace to its foundations and rattle the fillings of the remaining HRHs."
At present, it is unclear as to whether the book, which is due to be published by Penguin Random House, will chart his and Meghan Markle’s departure from royal duties or their move to the US.
