PETALING JAYA: Fully vaccinated travellers from Singapore will be able to travel to Malaysia under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) by air starting from Nov 29 without needing to undergo quarantine upon arrival, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
He added this also applies to air travellers from Malaysia entering Singapore.
“Both our governments are discussing the final points of the VTL for land travel between Malaysia and Singapore and will announce the details soon. With Malaysia and Singapore enjoying strong economic links and between our peoples, the VTL by air will be a huge moment to cherish as it signals another step for us out of the pandemic’s gloom.
“I hope that more Malaysians will be able to enjoy this facility and reunite with their friends and families. At the same time, I urge all travellers to abide by the SOP for health protocols and keep each other safer,” he said in a Facebook post last night.
Dr Wee also shared the Transport Ministry’s initial information on the requirements for VTL in tandem with Singapore’s Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, which can be found at the Malaysian Immigration Department website at www.imi.gov.my.
Details on the VTL requirements for travel into Singapore can be found at https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg.
In Kota Tinggi, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said Malaysia’s land border with Singapore will reopen on Nov 29 as well, which will only cover long-term pass holders.
