BATU PAHAT: A total of 22 people, including four women, have been issued compound notices totalling RM33,000 for violating standard operating procedures under the National Recovery Plan.
Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said the group was having a drug-fuelled private party at a homestay in Pura Kencana, Sri Gading here.
“Our officers raided the house at about 1.30am on Thursday (Nov 18).
“In the double-storey house, (they) found 22 people, aged between 16 and 23, having a party and believed to be under the influence of drugs,” he said in a statement on Friday (Nov 19).
ACP Ismail said urine tests found all the suspects positive for ketamine.
Each suspect was given a RM1,500 compound notice under Regulation 17(2) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.
The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, which provides for a maximum fine of RM5,000 or a jail term of up to two years or both.
