SEPANG: A police detective has been identified as the person who allegedly assaulted a woman for not finding him a match on a matrimony site.
State police chief Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said the police corporal, who is a detective in Selangor, has been placed on administrative duties while Kuala Lumpur police carry out an investigation.
"While an investigation into the case is ongoing, we will also conduct an internal disciplinary probe," he told reporters at the Sepang police headquarters on Friday (Nov 19).
The incident was said to have occurred at around 10.30am on Tuesday (Nov 16).
The victim, a 34-year-old customer service officer, was paid by the suspect to find him a love interest.
Initial investigations showed the 35-year-old suspect went to the victim’s office along Jalan 2 Chan Sow Lin to meet her.
While they were in the lift heading down, the suspect allegedly hit the woman's head multiple times.
The victim suffered bleeding to her head and received treatment at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM.
The suspect had paid the victim RM2,500 to find him a match on a matrimony site but without success after six months.
