PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has congratulated Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali for his appointment as Melaka's 13th chief minister.

       “I was invited to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Datuk Seri Sulaiman Mat Ali as the 13th Chief Minister of Melaka,” he added in a Facebook post on Sunday (Nov 21).

       Also present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, BN chairman, deputy chairman and advisory board chairman.

       Lendu state assemblyman Sulaiman Md Ali received his letter of appointment and took the oaths of office, loyalty and secrecy before Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam at Dewan Seri Utama of the Governor's Office here after the coalition swept to victory at the state election.

       Aside from Facebook, Dr Wee also posted congratulations to Sulaiman on his official Instagram account.

       "Barisan Nasional won 21 seats and the Chief Minister was sworn in on Nov 21 and this year is 2021. Congratulations to Sulaiman as the new Chief Minister with a new, larger mandate," said Dr Wee.
