PORT DICKSON: A 39-year-old man who was allegedly abducted from his house by several men impersonating policemen in Bandar Springhill near here in the early hours of Nov 13 died at the Selayang Hospital about four hours later.
Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said preliminary police investigations revealed that several individuals wearing yellow vests had arrived at the victim's family home at around 5.40am on Nov 13 in a white van with the word "Polis" printed on the door.
"The victim's wife lodged a report at 7.14am the same day, claiming that her husband had been abducted by several men.
"She said the men rang the doorbell and when her husband went out to ask why they were there, the men introduced themselves as policemen but they refused to say anything more.
"According to the victim's wife, the men then became aggressive and began forcefully pushing on the grille until it gave way," he said in a statement Monday (Nov 22).
Supt Aidi Sham said once the men forced their way into the house, they told the victim and his 38-year-old wife that they were probing a robbery.
They then asked the victim about the loot he supposedly was in possession of.
When the victim could not give the suspects what they asked for, they forced him to follow them.
When he refused, they assaulted him and forcefully took him away.
Supt Aidi Sham said a police team arrested two men at a house in Taman Pusat Kepong in Kuala Lumpur in a follow-up operation at 3.30am on Nov 14.
Police also seized six mobile phones, two tabs, a Honda City and a van at Taman Prima Selayang.
He said one of the suspects, a 44-year-old man, had a criminal record with 14 previous offences while the other, a 43-year-old man, had two prior offences.
"Both the suspects were remanded for 10 days to assist in the probe.
"A post mortem on the deceased showed that the cause of death was blunt trauma to the head," he said.
Supt Aidi Sham said police believe the motive of the murder was jealousy.
"We are still looking for a few more suspects to assist in the probe," he said.
The two suspects would be charged at the Magistrate'S Court here Tuesday (Nov 23) with three others still at large
They will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, Section 364 for kidnapping and Section 170 for posing as a civil servant read together with Section 34 of the same act.
