KULAI: A lorry attendant died in an accident near the Skudai toll booth southbound along the North-South Expressway.
Kulai Fire and Rescue Department chief Bahtiar Selamat said two lorries were involved in the incident on Tuesday (Nov 23) at 9.38am.
He said two Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicles, an Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) and Rapid Rescue Vehicle were deployed to the scene.
"Seventeen firefighters from the Kulai and Skudai Fire and Rescue Departments were involved in the operation," Bahtiar said in a statement.
He said a three-tonne lorry had hit the rear of a Hino lorry in which the 21-year-old victim was travelling in.
The Hino lorry driver, the driver and the lorry attendant of the three-tonne lorry suffered injuries.
"We took about 64 minutes to retrieve the victims and the operation ended at 10.46am," said Bahtiar.
He said the victims who suffered injuries were sent to Kulai Hospital for treatment while the body was handed over to the police for further action.
