A portion of the CTA’s Blue Line was down in both directions Wednesday afternoon after a man fell onto the tracks at the Logan Square station on the Northwest Side, according to the transit agency.

       The person did not come in contact with the third rail or a train during the situation, which happened about 3:30 p.m. at the Logan Square stop, 2620 N. Milwaukee Ave., said Catherine Hosinski, a spokesperson for CTA.

       Service on the Blue Line was temporarily suspended between the Jefferson Park and Damen stations at 3:42 p.m., the CTA said via Twitter. Power was also shut off in the area during the service suspension.

       Trains were down for some 20 to 25 minutes after the incident was reported, Hosinski said, adding that the person who fell requested medical attention, so the CTA waited for paramedics to arrive before resuming service.

       The man, who was “talking and coherent” when taken by paramedics to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, did not suffer injuries that were considered life-threatening, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

       By about 4 p.m., Blue Line trains in that area were on the move, with “residual delays and congestion,” according to another CTA tweet.
