IPOH: There is no need to reclassify the disappearance of Prasana Diksa as a missing persons case, says Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid.

       The Perak police chief said this is because Prasana is with her father.

       "We are still investigating the whereabouts of Prasana, but she is with her father. So there's no need to reclassify the case,” he said.

       "At the moment, we have not received any new police reports lodged by her mother, M. Indira Gandhi," added Comm Mior when speaking to reporters at Aeon Kinta City here on Thursday (Nov 25).

       On Nov 18, Indira wanted the police to reclassify her daughter's case after claiming that no one has seen her daughter alive since 2010.

       She had previously lodged two police reports in Sept 2019 and April 2020 in Putrajaya, asking the police to reclassify the case as a missing persons case.

       Comm Mior said the police are still investigating the whereabouts of Indira's ex-husband, Muhammad Riduan Abdullah.

       "We are still working on finding the location of Muhammad Riduan and Prasana," he said.

       On another matter, Comm Mior said that the police have arrested three suspects linked to a murder at Flat Ashby here.

       He said that the three suspects are aged 34, 37 and 60 and added that a pocket knife was found on one of them when they were arrested.

       Comm Mior said that it is believed that the 29-year-old victim stole a speaker belonging to one of the suspects.

       "Based on our initial investigation, the victim was strangled to death after confronting the suspect around 7am on Thursday," he said, adding that the case is classified as a murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
