MELAKA: Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh acknowledges that Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali is his "boss" in the context of the state administration, but says that he outranks the Melaka Chief Minister on party matters.
"Of course he (Sulaiman) is my 'boss' when it comes to the administration of the state government and I will obey his decisions," he said when met after the executive councillor swearing-in ceremony at Seri Negeri in Ayer Keroh here on Friday (Nov 26).
Ab Rauf, who was among the 11 state executive councillors – including Sulaiman – sworn in on Friday (Nov 26), said he would execute the duties entrusted to him.
He will lead the state industrial, investment and entrepreneur development portfolio, which is considered a key component of the state government.
However, Ab Rauf, who is chief of Umno as well as Barisan Nasional in Melaka, said he was still the "boss" when it concerns party matters.
"So, Sulaiman has to listen to me on matters concerning the party (and Barisan)," he added.
