Colder-than-average weather spills over the region to close November, in keeping with much of the rest of the month. But temperatures will trend milder for the opening of December, with 60 possible Thursday and Friday. We’re in a bit of roller coaster pattern, though, and chilly air may return to the region over the weekend. As temperatures bounce around, precipitation will be rather light and spotty, as it’s been for weeks.

A look ahead
December starts off with seasonably cool conditions Wednesday. With variable cloud cover, highs should approach 50; our average high on Dec. 1 is 53. A few showers aren’t out of the question during the day or at night as a warm front lifts through the area but they probably won’t amount to a lot. Lows Wednesday night are near 40. Confidence: Medium
