KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Christina Liew has brushed off claims that PKR members are signing statutory declarations to oust her as Sabah party chairman.

She said such moves were normal every time party polls were near.

Asked if she was planning to defend her post, the former state deputy chief minister retorted with "What do you think?"

Liew, who is Tawau MP and Api-Api assemblyman, also refused to comment on support for her as Sabah PKR leader.

"Let's just wait and see," she said.

Earlier, news portal The Vibes, quoting Anak Muda Keadilan chief for Tawau, Tommy Thomas, reported that most PKR divisions in Sabah would reject Liew as state chief.

Tommy was quoted as saying that members had signed statutory declarations about this and proposed for a new chief to be appointed during party polls early next year.

He said party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had been informed about the matter.

He claimed Sabah PKR's performance had deteriorated each year under Liew, saying that one of the negatives was the number of seats secured during GE14 compared to GE13.

Meanwhile, Sabah PKR information chief Chrisnadia Sinam slammed Tommy's claims, saying that his views did not represent the entire party.

Sinam urged party members to judge for themselves Liew's efforts over the years.
