Kings Cross locked down as armed police respond to bomb scare

       The commuter hub has now been reopened after the station’s passengers were evacuated. The Met Police statement about the incident read: “Police were called to Kings Cross Railway Station at 19.53hrs on Wednesday, 8 December to reports of a man with a suspicious package.

       “Officers attended. The man had boarded a train, which was then evacuated as a precaution.

       “The man then came off the train and was arrested on suspicion of public order offence.

       “He has been taken into custody.

       “A search of the train was carried out as a precaution.

       “The station has now been reopened."

       Passengers quickly took to Twitter as police attended the scene, reporting police dogs at the incident alongside armed police.

       One traveller on Twitter, @makejoshscrum, wrote: "Police response is HUGE here at #KingsCross - main concourse is still open to the public!"

       Another, Joe_90, posted: "Just been evacuated from Kings Cross station. Police arriving in force."

       National Rail also took to Twitter, saying: “The police are dealing with an incident at London Kings Cross.

       "Consequentially, all lines are blocked and trains that call at this station may be delayed.”

       "This is expected until 21:30.”

       The Twitter account for Thameslink warned commuters: "Police are dealing with an incident at Kings Cross.

       "The station is shut and we can't run to/from Kings Cross until further notice.

       "Please use services to/from St Pancras instead, these are still running."

       National Rail, posting an update, said: "#LondonKingsCross - Following the police dealing with an incident at London Kings Cross all lines have reopened.

       "As a result, trains may still be delayed.

       "This is expected until 21:30."

       Great Northern Rail tweeted to travellers: "Kings Cross station is open and we can to/from the station as normal again.

       Twitter user @makejoshscrum posted: "Specialist officers leaving #KingsCross."
