TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japanese athletes swept the top spots at the freestyle skiing World Cup in Sweden on Saturday, with 17-year-old Anri Kawamura dominating the women's moguls and Ikuma Horishima the best of the men.

Kawamura led at every stage from qualification through to the final to earn her maiden World Cup crown at the Idre Fjall resort.

Scoring 85.99 in the deciding round, she became the first Japanese woman to win in moguls since Aiko Uemura in March 2010.

The teenager from Tokyo finished ahead of 2018 Olympic moguls champion Perrine Laffont of France, with Australian Jakarta Anthony third.

"It feels just amazing," Kawamura said following her victory. "I'm really happy to be here and this first place today means a lot to me."

Japan's Rino Yanagimoto and Kisara Sumiyoshi finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

The 24-year-old Horishima also led from start to finish in the men's moguls, claiming his first World Cup win of the season and ninth overall after scoring 88.49.

Swede Albin Holmgren and France's Benjamin Cavet rounded out the podium, with Japan's Kosuku Sugimoto fourth.

"I saw Sugimoto, Cavet and Holmgren all scoring pretty high for their runs, but I tried to focus on my skiing and just doing my best," Horishima said. "It all paid off in the end, so I'm very happy."
