PORT DICKSON: Nine motorists who were captured on video driving on the emergency lane along the Sunggala-Sua Betong stretch here have been told to report to the district police headquarters here to assist in investigations.
Port Dickson OCPD Supt Aidi Sham Mohamad said the offence was caught on a 43-second clip which has since gone viral. The incident happened between 2pm and 3pm on Sunday (Dec 12).
"We hope the vehicle owners will turn up at the district police headquarters to assist in investigations.
"We would also like to remind motorists to be patient when driving and obey all traffic rules at all times to prevent inconveniencing others," he said in a statement.
Supt Aidi Sham said the registration plate numbers of the vehicles which were seen being driven along the emergency lane were JSU 7346, NDF 1629, ALR 7776, CBS 5433, JLV 7267, NBM 1706, MBG 3678, NAV 7097 and VBB 1806.
The case is being probed under Section 279 of the Penal Code and Section 53(1) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
