KUALA LUMPUR: Interpol has already issued Red Notices for fugitive businessmen Low Taek Jho and Nicky Liow Soon Hee, but these are only accessible for viewing by enforcement agencies only, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.
He said Bukit Aman had appied for and received the Red Notices on June 11, 2018 for Jho Low and on April 20 this year for Liow.
"There are two categories of the Interpol Red Notice. The first are notices that can be accessed by members of the public while the other is only for enforcement agencies," he said.
He explained that Interpol headquarters determines whether a Red Notice is for public access or for enforcement agencies.
“It depends on the seriousness level and threat to the public.
"The police remain committed to ensure that both men will be detained and brought to justice," he said in a statement on Monday (Dec 13).
