KEPALA BATAS: Although most Malaysians are satisfied with the overall performance of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s Cabinet in the first 100 days, they want the government to do more to improve things during the pandemic.

Civil servant Zaida Rahaneem Ahmad, 40, is especially happy with the Health Ministry led by Khairy Jamaluddin.

“KJ (Khairy) has taken proactive measures to prevent a further spread of Covid-19 in the country,” she said.

“We can see that the Cabinet led by our Prime Minister has also taken necessary measures, especially in relation to the welfare and safety of the people.

“However, I feel that there is still some room for improvement.

“They should come out with more initiatives to improve the country’s economy and at the same time, prepare plans to face any eventualities during this pandemic.”

Marketing executive Nicholas Yeoh, 29, hopes that the government will do something fast to bring down the prices of goods and necessary items.

“It is all about bread and butter issues. The people have one thing in common, which is to provide for their family,” he said.

Yeoh said the high prices of food items in the country showed that there was a need to ensure sufficient food stock and for prices to be controlled, so that it could benefit everyone, especially the lower- income group.

Sales personnel Ashraf Ali, 37, said the current line-up of Cabinet ministers comprised those who had years of experience in the government, and therefore, should have no problem fulfilling their responsibilities.

“Overall, the ministers and their deputies have been up to mark in carrying out their duties,” he said.
