KUALA LUMPUR: Floods in the Klang Valley have also affected attendance at the Wanita MCA’s 46th AGM.

Wanita MCA chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie said the virtual and physical attendance rate at the AGM is low as many places are affected by the floods.

"We expected to have over 1,000 in attendance, but we received information last night that many in the central committee and in the exco notified us that they would not be able to make it due to the floods," she said.

"For some of them their (internet) connections were also affected due to the floods in their area. We regret this.

"But, what is more important is the safety and livelihood of all the victims," added Heng during a press conference at the Wanita MCA’s 46th AGM on Saturday (Dec 18).

The total attendance at the Wanita MCA AGM was 687 out of 1923 delegates nationwide (35.73%).

Heng also added that they would be working with the Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) to help flood victims.

"We know that five states – Selangor, Melaka, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, have been badly affected by the floods," she said.
