SHAH ALAM: Muhamad Farhan Rolex recalled the last conversation he had with his older brother, Muhamad Rahim Rolex, 27, a mechanic, who was among 10 people killed in a road crash involving three cars and a trailer lorry at at the Shah Alam-bound USJ Rest & Recreation area of the Elite Expressway on Friday (Dec 17).
“It was about 10pm. He told me he had received a call from a friend whose car had broken down by the roadside and he was going out to help him.
“However, at about 12.30 am (on Sunday, Dec 18), his father (Rolex Shapiai) told me that my brother had not come home and then called his handphone, but somebody else answered it and told him (father) about the mishap,” he said when met by Bernama at the Shah Alam Hospital here.
The crash, which occurred at about 11.30pm, involved 17 victims, including 10 who died. A woman and her eight children were the other nine people killed in the crash.
The injured were the children’s father and three relatives, while the other three victims were the driver of the trailer and his two sons. All three escaped unscathed in the crash. – Bernama
