The Inspector-General of Police said the additional officers and personnel who will be deployed will assist existing manpower at state contingents.
"For Selangor, 3,454 officers and personnel from the total of 23,090 have been mobilised to assist flood relief operations in a few locations in the state," he said.
"The police are also equipped with 369 boats and engines, 36 jetskis, 437 lorries and 1,409 four-wheel drive vehicles," added Acryl Sani when contacted.
He said that the police's priority is the safety of flood victims, especially when it comes to relocating them to safer locations.
"We will also ensure safety and public order during this natural disaster as well as curbing the spread of Covid-19. The most important aspect is the safety of those affected by the flood," he said
