KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) has invited leaders and members who quit Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) recently to join them.

PBRS president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup said theirs was a multiracial native party which could unite the people and bring development to the local community.

He said that PBRS was the only local party which was still part of Barisan Nasional.

“I wish to invite these PCS members to join our party and work towards developing Sabah,” Kurup said.

“I believe we will be able to grow and bring positive changes in many aspects for the people, state and nation by being part of Barisan.”

When contacted, former PCS elected vice-president Datuk Ewon Ebin maintained that he and his comrades would only cross the bridge when they come to it.

He did not wish to comment on the offer by PBRS or anyone else for now.

Many PCS members including vice-presidents had quit, citing inactivity of the party and a loss of political direction among other reasons.

Former foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, who leads PCS, said the mass exodus was “just politics”.

PCS lost all the 73 state seats it contested in last year’s state election.
