Three people were shot and one died early Sunday in Rockville.

       Montgomery County police said the incident happened around 3 a.m. Sunday in the 13000 block of Ashby Road near Arctic Avenue.

       When officers arrived they found three adults who had been shot. Two of the victims had injuries that were not life-threatening and another person had gunshot wounds to his upper body, police said.

       The three victims were taken to a hospital, where the man with wounds to his upper body died. His name was not immediately released, pending the notification of his family, police said.

       Officials said the homicide remains under investigation.
